Bedroom

bedroom

A lot of American households today enjoy owning more than one television, and more often than not, the second television is usually set up in the bedroom. It has become a common practice for a significant percentage of Americans to watch television in bed before turning in. Bedrooms, however, may not have enough space to hold a TV, and other typical bedroom furniture may not be able to support the weight of a television.

bedroom

TVs are fragile, and if not placed on a proper medium, could fall and break. Wires from your electronic equipment in plain view could also be a cause for irritation, as it makes your bedroom look messy and chaotic, hardly conducive to a restful ambiance. Consider using a bedroom TV stand instead of adding additional furniture. These TV stands are practical, will save you space and will also complement your decor, transforming your bedroom with its elegant presence, so you can now relax and watch television comfortably from your bed.

bedroom

Typically, a bedroom Television stand is smaller than a regular TV stand. These TV stands are designed to meet the space requirement in a bedroom where the available legroom space is limited, and are great space savers because of their modest size. Bedroom Television stands can also help you organize your entertainment paraphernalia with ease, creating an impact with its compact storage and display space.

bedroom

Another factor which has to be kept in mind is the height of the television, as people who watch television in their bedroom normally watch it while lying down. If the height of the TV is not correct, it could hamper your TV watching and give you a crick in the neck. However, the height of a bedroom TV stand is designed to enhance your viewing pleasure where you can watch TV comfortably while sitting-up or lying in bed.

bedroom

Bedroom Television stands also offer features like glass doors that keep components dust free while allowing you to browse, adjustable shelves, ample storage space, storage draws for miscellaneous items, back openings for easy cord access and wire management, etc. But these features will vary in different types and styles of bedroom Television stands.

bedroom

Bedroom Television stands come in a variety of styles designed to suit your personal requirement. Depending on your comfortable viewing angle from your bed; how you will personally be using the space, and what style will complement your bedroom decor the most, you can buy a bedroom TV stand which will support your need.

bedroom

You will also need to keep in mind the storage space you'll need, the dimensions - height, width and depth - of your television, the location where you intend to place the TV stand, stability of the bedroom TV table and finally style.

bedroom

It's important to select a bedroom Television stand according to the style of your television. For instance, if you have an LCD or Plasma, you might want to consider a modern bedroom TV stand. Bedroom TV stands come in a wide variety of designs, styles, materials and finish to suit every kind of budget and decor. From single material TV stands to multiple combinations of different materials like wood, metal, rattan, aluminum and glass, bedroom Television stands can range from traditional to contemporary to ultra modern.

bedroom

These types of Television stands are ideal for small bedrooms as these stands can have space for just the TV and/or one or two shelves. Large pieces of furniture can overwhelm a small bedroom, and can create a cramped ambience. However, a basic bedroom Television stand could be perfect because of its compact size.

bedroom

If you have a lot of electronic equipment like an LCD TV, DVD, gaming or stereo components, but want to hide everything when not in use, then consider a bedroom TV cabinet as it conveniently offers plenty of storage, with the option of 'hiding' your electronic equipment when not in use. These types of bedroom Television stands come in a variety of design, style, material and finish.

bedroom

Designed to be comfortably nestled in an unused corner, corner bedroom Television stands can be great for space saving. These types of bedroom TV stands are a great addition to your bedroom as you can watch TV from any part of the room and gives a greater accessibility to floor space in your bedroom.

bedroom

Just as it sounds, swivel bedroom Television stands allow a greater flexibility to swivel the TV, thus accommodating your viewing angle, making it possible to comfortably view the TV from any part of the room.

bedroom

There are a number of factors to be considered before buying a bedroom Television stand, such as your budget, the wide variety of selection available and the location where you'll be placing the bedroom Television stand. You should also keep in mind which room you want to purchase the bedroom television table for - the master bedroom, the guest room or the children's room? Your choice of room can help you decide what type of bedroom television stand you will need. Then you can choose a stand that will not only meet your requirement, but will also aesthetically blend in with the bedroom decor.

bedroom

Some people like to design their bedrooms specifically to fit the season. Winter colors are very popular in the winter, autumn colors make beautiful bedroom décor, springtime colors can certainly brighten up your bedroom, and summertime colors can also add a beautiful touch to your bedroom décor.

bedroom

If you cannot afford to or simply do not want to have two to four bedroom sets of different colors to fit the seasons, you can still have wonderful bedroom décor. When you stick with one bedspread, set of curtains, window seat covers etc. just be sure to choose wisely. Neutral colors are my first suggestion. Using colors such as blacks, browns, beiges, off-whites and whites can all be used as a sort of universal bedroom décor.

bedroom

However, if you do not want to have two to four bedroom sets in your home to change the colors in your bedroom as the seasons change outside, you may very well prefer to pick the colors you like best. That is the next best thing. If you prefer burgundy, and you already have a wooden bedroom set that is stained a burgundy color, you can just go with that theme or motif for the rest of your bedroom design. It is very important to keep in mind that your bedroom décor will not reflect your personal taste unless you do not let anything get in the way of your personal style when you decorate. Your bedroom décor will not reflect your decorative ideas unless it is something you enjoy, no matter if it is snowing outside or swimming pool weather.

bedroom

Many bedroom sets come in four and up to eight pieces, which include items like nightstands, bed frames, dressers, vanities, armoires etc. Your bedroom set is the base of your bedroom décor, because it will often accentuate the rest of the design.

bedroom

The curtains in your bedroom will play an essential part in the overall look of the room itself. There are many kinds of curtains to choose from when choosing your bedroom décor. Some styles of bedroom décor are more subtle, with a plain color or simple design and versatile enough to last year round. Other kinds of curtains for the bedroom bring out an especially elegant touch to the room. These are curtains such as silks, velvets etc., the velvet often bearing some sort of design and or texture.

bedroom

Of course the bedspread is one of the most essential parts of bedroom décor. The bedspread, pillows and sheets that you use can add a beautiful or stylish touch to your bedroom. Therefore you should be sure to choose the very best bedspread for your personal taste, especially if you will be using a long lasting bedspread year-round.

bedroom

Some people come halfway in the case of seasonal bedroom décor when it comes to their bedspreads and throw pillows. Although they change no other part of the room, they will have two different bedspreads and bedspread accessories to change the bedroom décor slightly as the weather changes. This may be a practical move, too if you choose to use a heavier, warmer bedspread in the wintertime and change over to a lighter bedspread when the seasons change and the nights seem to be getting warmer, making it less comfortable to sleep.

bedroom

The carpet you choose for your bedroom is also a very important part of the overall look of your bedroom décor. If you change your bedroom décor often, you will prefer a more neutral color carpet. Always try to buy stain resistant carpeting for your bedroom and any other room of the house, especially if you choose a light colored carpet.

bedroom

Another good idea for bedroom décor is to have a throw rug. Throw rugs can be great bedroom décor because they can protect certain parts of the carpet not covered by the bed. However, throw rugs can also add a beautiful, even luxurious touch to your bedroom. Fine oriental rugs and more expensive designer throw rugs are very popular among those wealthier persons who really take their bedroom décor very seriously.

bedroom

Are you the sort who sees your bedroom as nothing more than a place where you put your bed and sleep, or do you see your bedroom as your own special space? For many a bedroom is a place that is theirs alone and has to reflect their sense of who they are. They take great delight in their bedroom decor and selection of bedroom furniture and in particular the bed they choose to sleep in, and great delight in the overall feel of their bedroom as an intimate place.

bedroom

If you're one of the former then this article probably won't appeal much. If your bedroom is a place where you sleep and get dressed, and that's the extent of your attachment to your bedroom, then who cares what it looks or feels like?

bedroom

But if you love being in your bedroom you'll probably love decorating it, taking your time choosing your bed and your bedding, lying in in the mornings to take delight in your surroundings and generally feeling good in your own special room. This article is written for you.

bedroom

Refurbishing is all the rage now, and for many refurbishing their bedroom is high on their list. So if you're designing your bedroom new, or refurbishing, here's a few things you might like to think about before you start buying at the store.

bedroom

Have a plan. It's easy to see a great bed, love it, buy it and then wonder what else you'll put with it to make it fit in with the room. Before you buy anything for your bedroom you need to decide on a few basic things and preferably write down a decoration plan.

bedroom

What theme is your bedroom to be? For a child it might be a Winnie the Pooh theme for example, for an adult it might be a color or a period. Or perhaps a certain style of furnishing. You need to decide on an overall theme for your bedroom decorations, then select your bed, bedding and general bedroom furniture to go along with that theme. Including paint color and carpet color of course. Write it all down and plan it all before you start buying.

bedroom

Cost and budget. It' s usually not a cheap matter doing a total bedroom refurbishment, or setting up a new bedroom from scratch. You need to know how much you have to spend and how much each item costs. No point in buying that wonderful four poster bed you've always wanted then being unable to afford the right bedding to make it look great. As well as the bed your sheets, duvet cover, pillows and so on all need to fit in with your theme, so you need the budget to stretch to buying it all, including the right carpet and paint and general bedroom furniture as well, bedroom curtains included. Write down your budget as well as your theme, price everything before you start buying and make sure you know firstly what every item costs before you start and also that the total cost is within your budget.

bedroom

Size. You need to know exactly what size your bedroom is. This needs to be included in your plan. It's no good deciding on that wonderful four poster bed (that fits within your budget) and that beautiful dressing table, and oh those blanket boxes that look so good in timber, and so on, then finding that it's such a squeeze fitting it all in that it's almost impossible to move around your bed. Many people have been caught in the trap of buying then finding that the wonderful bedroom they planned to have is almost unusable because there is so little space left after adding the bedroom furniture.

bedroom

Getting it all into the bedroom. For many this isn't an issue, but for some it is. If your bedroom is up the stairs, around the corner and through a narrow door then you have to consider how you are going to get all that bedroom furniture in. For most pieces of furniture such as dressers and tables, it's usually possible, but it's also possible to buy large items, like that wonderful four poster bed, and finding that you just can't get it through the door. Before you buy the four poster bed make sure you take your measurements of things like widths of your bedroom doors and any other squeeze points that will need to be negotiated to get the bed in.
